Gallery: Roof Scans for Leak Detection
Everyone knows finding leaks in an old tar and gravel roof can be tough but with our thermal imaging equipment the detection of leaks becomes a whole lot easier and more efficient. The following roof scans were taken atop the Dial Corporation building in Montgomery, IL 60538 after we recieved a call concerning a leak approximately 5 feet inside a Mailroom doorway.
Our goal was to find the roof leaks or potential leak areas but as a side benefit you can see various heat loss sources from the building as well.

Outside the Mailroom door. Scans show wet areas against the wall, which appear to be in the flat area (field) versus in the flashing. Leaks of this type are hard to detect with normal vision, but are not a problem with thermal imaging equipment

Even uninsulated drain pipes can be a source of heat loss.
