Gallery: Tangent Tech, LLC - Before Roof Restoration
We received a call for the Tangent Tech building in Aurora, IL.
An old sprayed on foam roofing solution with a coating to protect it was sold to building owners by another contractor. The coating had failed shortly after — and all had to be removed.
Affordable Roofing was awarded the metal roof restoration project in the fall of 2007.
The Preparation
Preparation is key to the project. Old rotting insulation was removed and underneath showed advanced stages of rusting through the entire area.
Old and damaged sections were replaced with heavier gauged material for a more durable and lasting roof.
Then a good and proper powerwashing. Essential for the adherenced of the restoration products.
All seams, fasteners and projections were coated with Republican Powered Metal's (RPM) GeoGard and PermaFab product lines.
Also from RPM, Spray Alumanation was sprayed over the entire roof. This highly reflective surface reduces cooling costs by bouncing the solar energy backwards.
