Rebuilding Together Aurora is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to helping low-income homeowners, through home renovation and repair. The staff and crew of Affordable Roofing volunteers their time each year to provide a new roof.
Due to scheduling conflicts, we normally have the home to ourselves.
This year we worked alongside landscaping volunteers from the Naperville Rotary Club. A few Rotary members helped out below with the cleanup of the old roofing that was torn off.
Our wheelbarrow sustained damage from a roofing nail and made things a little sluggish with cleanup, so a big thanks to the Rotary as they kept pushin’ on!
About midway through the project we were hit with a brief, heavy downpour of rain and thunder. That did not dampen any spirits. The crew had to come down from the roof for safety reasons and got right back up after the storm passed. The Rotary kept working through it though. Amazing.
A big shout out again to Bradco Supply who donated all of the roofing again this year. Bradco donates materials to several projects every year, and a lot of this would not be possible without them.
